Senior Electrical Engineer(Data centres)
Our client is a leading provider of mission-critical services in the data centre and technology infrastructure sector. As part of our commitment to excellence, they are seeking a skilled and dynamic Senior Electrical Engineer (Commissioning) to join their growing team.
Role Overview:
As an Electrical Engineer (Commissioning), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation of electrical systems in new and existing data centres. This includes managing the testing and commissioning process of electrical infrastructure, coordinating with multiple teams, and ensuring all systems meet technical specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the commissioning activities for electrical systems in data centres, including power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generators, and other mission-critical infrastructure.
- Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists in alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
- Perform detailed testing of electrical equipment and systems to ensure functionality, safety, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, automation, IT) and contractors to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support during the commissioning phase.
- Review and approve electrical design and commissioning documentation, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating risks throughout the commissioning process.
- Document test results and maintain accurate records for all commissioning activities.
- Ensure that health, safety, and environmental regulations are followed throughout the commissioning process.
- Liaise with clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns or technical issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in electrical commissioning, preferably within the data centre industry.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including high and low voltage distribution, UPS systems, power generators, and switchgear.
- Strong understanding of commissioning standards and procedures (e.g., ASHRAE, IEEE, etc.).
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate with multiple teams.
- Familiarity with relevant health and safety standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
- Willingness to travel as required by project locations throughout Europe
Preferred Skills:
- Professional certifications (e.g., PE, LEED, PMP, CxA) are a plus.
- Experience in working on Tier III and Tier IV data centres.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
