Are you an experienced ecologist looking to take ownership of your projects while working closely with the Managing Director? A dynamic and expanding consultancy based in the heart of Galway City, is seeking a Senior Consultant Ecologist to join our growing team.

This client specializes in providing expert planning and ecological services to public and private sector clients across Ireland. Their work covers a diverse range of environmental projects, including:

✅ Bat & Bird Surveys
✅ Appropriate Assessment Screening Reports
✅ Natura Impact Statements
✅ Ecological Impact Assessments
✅ Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Reports

Your Role:

As a Senior Consultant Ecologist, you’ll be an integral part of our in-house ecological team, handling responsibilities such as:

🔹 Conducting bat and bird surveys and preparing reports
🔹 Assisting with Appropriate Assessment Screening Reports & Natura Impact Statements
🔹 Carrying out habitat mapping and fieldwork
🔹 Managing projects, liaising with clients, and promoting our services
🔹 Delivering projects on time and within budget
🔹 Supporting office administration as needed

What We’re Looking For:

✔️ 3– 6 years of professional experience in ecology or a related field
✔️ Strong knowledge of environmental law, EIA & Habitats Directives
✔️ Familiarity with “A Guide to Habitats in Ireland” (Fossitt)
✔️ Baseline ability in plant and tree species identification
✔️ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
✔️ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✔️ Full driver’s license and own transport preferred
✔️ CIEEM (or equivalent) membership preferred but not essential
✔️ GIS experience is a plus!
