Project Manager (Environment & Planning)

Seeking a motivated and skilled Project Manager specialising in Environment & Planning. This role involves overseeing and managing a portfolio of environmental and planning projects, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality results in compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, excellent project management capabilities, and a passion for sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage environmental and planning projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and community groups, to support project objectives.
  • Conduct environmental assessments, develop project documentation, and ensure all environmental regulatory requirements are met.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and present project updates and reports to clients and senior management.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation and client relationship management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Minimum Level 8 Honours Degree in Science or Engineering, with a desirable Level 9 Master’s Degree qualification. A qualification relevant to environmental science, engineering, or planning is preferred.
  • Chartership: Actively working towards Chartership with an Environmental Professional Body.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in project management within an environmental or planning context, with a track record of delivering successful outcomes.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations, standards, and assessment methodologies.
  • Project Management Skills: Proficient in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify challenges and propose innovative solutions.
