Principal EIA Consultant ( Remote)

As they grow, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal EIA Consultant to lead a remote team of skilled professionals in Ireland and contribute to impactful, industry-leading projects.

Role Overview

As a Principal EIA Consultant, you will lead complex Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects, providing technical expertise, project management, and strategic direction. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with environmental regulations. Your role will focus on cultivating client relationships, securing new business opportunities, and mentoring junior consultants to uphold our commitment to environmental integrity and sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage all phases of EIA projects, from scoping and stakeholder consultation to delivery of final reports and post-project evaluation.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide expert insights on EIA requirements, environmental legislation, and best practices across sectors, including energy, infrastructure, and natural resources.
  • Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain relationships with clients, offering strategic advice and innovative solutions to meet project needs and exceed expectations.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, prepare proposals, and contribute to marketing initiatives to expand their client base.
  • Mentorship and Training: Guide and mentor junior consultants and project teams, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous professional development.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects align with current EIA and environmental legislation, providing thorough assessments and documentation to support permitting and planning applications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate and participate in consultations with public and private stakeholders, addressing environmental concerns and facilitating effective communication.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in EIA consulting, with at least 3 years in a senior or principal consultant role.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of EIA methodologies, environmental regulations, and sector-specific requirements.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and revenue growth.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience guiding cross-functional teams to achieve high-quality project outcomes.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven track record in report writing, stakeholder engagement, and public consultation.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in EIA software, GIS tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
